    Hey guys..

    almost completed my second system!

Its crazy how everyday goes by and I have a new idea to construct a AP system somehow, somewhere, someway..

this time I decided that since the wife has been so very patient with my AP craziness as of late that I would build something just for her.. since she loves gazing at exotic fishies all day I constructed a more appealing system designed for indoors and to look great right in any living room!

so here it is.. hope you like :D

the only real problem I've had with this system is the clay balls.. i tried rinsing them but the dust from them continued to fog my tank..

so I just stole some pantyhose from the wife and installed it on the diverted water pipe and it seems to be doing the trick!

    Hey Adam!

    I checked out ur systems!
Really nice, and i share the same thoughts as u do, i use your signanutere in a lot of discussions with friends and family.:broc1:
I started a aquarium AP as well. but didn't want to spend a lot of money on it so it doesn't look so great as yours. (i also was kind of scared for faliure:frown:).
U should check out my post and see what troubles i've had.
    http://www.aquaponics.net.au/forum/showthread.php?t=1922

    One important thing was:
The gravel on the bottom of the FT (aquarium) was holding a lot of fish waste, ammonia readings where terrible and lost a couple of fish even with water changes. But that was all fixed after i took out the gravel.

    Keep us up to date!

hey thanks for the wishes guys..

i'll be sure to check out your post jonael

yes, i fell for the fancy gravel and rocks also.. i eventually took it all out, placed a smaller open ended pump at the bottom blowing towards the bigger pump.. i also tinted the outside of the tank with automobile tint so the fish feel more comfortable!

i just bought a new camera so i'm gonna get some new photos going soon

All the system needs now is a set of chrome 22 inch spinners and some fuzzy dice... then it'd be fully pimped out! :p

i used to have an aquarium setup in the '80s - most of my fish were guppies platies and swords - the live breeders --very relaxing to look at - better than television sometimes!!

HAHAHAHA yabbies thats awesome.. that design looks similar to the aquariuim mint tank i made for my wife we have a beta and some black moscow guppies in there. mine doesnt looks quite so proffesional but i havent had a fish die in over a year now, even in canadian winter with no extra lighting it still produces enough mint for a pot of tea a week, considering the basket of gravel is only 9x6 thats pretty good results. my setup is different because i have no filter and no pump, only an air pump/stone that uses less than 1 watt. below is the start of the tank i just added an air stone and put it in the window by the stove [IMG]
