1. The Practical Aquaponics discussion forum has been in operation for the last 5 years...

We have enjoyed giving this service free of charge however ongoing increasing financial costs of running this service is making it increasingly difficult. Up until now we have resisted advertising as a means of a revenue stream to help run this forum but it has become inevitable that extra revenue is required to run this forum.

We have introduced a donate button to help offset the cost of running this forum. It is completely voluntary, but if you would like to donate, all donations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Murray..

Hi Glen, sorry for late reply. (I never saw the message flag)

I used the 90mm end pieces from the troughs and cut it in such a way that the 90mm T piece became the major piece for the mega siphon. The centre standpipe is 25mm PVC and the Bell is 85mm DWV with an endcap - I have an air bleed screw in the cap. Both are 200mm long. The bottom of the T has an endcap with a 25mm hole for the fitting to screw through into a 25/50mm adapter. This then has a fitting that goes onto the 50mm DWV drainage pipe .... off to the ST/FT.

If you need any further info send me your email address and I'll send off some photos for you.

      Mal

      Hello Malcolm
I just saw the pictures of your growbeds in the "System expansion" thread. I have the same trays. I see you have assembled an autosiphon to connect into the drains. Would you be able to give me any tips on the construction? I spent 30mins at Bunnings last weekend staring at the pvc fittings, but was still a little unsure of the best way to plumb it up. Any assistance/advice greatly appreciated.
      Thanks
      Glen
