I've had this fish farm for almost 2 years and so far have not turned a profit. I have learned a lot about tilapia however there are times when i need a second opinion. there are a lot of so called fish guys in my area but the advice is conflicting to say the least. I have 2 man made earth ponds that I use they are about 1/4 hectare each and I currently have 23,000 fish in one of the ponds. they have been there for 6 months so far. They were growing very slow until i increased the feed. now they are growing at about 2 to 3 grams per day i think. My ponds are aerated using large bubble diffusers
I have 7 diffusers per pond. my water depth is 1.5 meters and the temp never gets cold her in the Philippines however, the weather does change a bit during rainy season of which starts in may and ends in January. I run the aerators 24hrs a day 3 hours on and 1 hour off for cool down reasons.

Farmers here claim to grow tilapia to market size in 3 to 4 months (180 to 250 grams per fish) This one guy who happens to be one of my buyers claims one of his suppliers stocks 50k of fingerlings, feeds them a total of 80 sacks (25k grams each) of feed and harvest them in 3 to 4 month. to me the math doesn't work lol. Anyway my ongoing problems are water quality and algae blooms in addition to not being able to grow the fish to market weight. My most successful harvest was my first try. I had 32k fish in one pond and harvested them within 5 months they weighed around 200 grams
